Who is eligible to live at The Sanctuary Independent Living?
Adults who are 21 and older who are capable of independent living. We welcome individuals seeking stability and a fresh start, including Veterans, seniors, those facing housing insecurity, or transitioning from incarceration or other life disruptions.
What is the screening process?
Applicants must:

Pay the non-refundable community fee and the first month's program fee.
If you are being discharged from a hospital or treatment program, we may require a brief assessment to ensure readiness for independent living.
Is there a waiting list?
Yes, our homes often operate on a waitlist due to high demand. We encourage all interested individuals to apply as soon as possible to secure placement when a space becomes available.
What does the monthly fee include?

Are rooms private or shared?
We offer both private and shared room options, depending on availability and your personal preferences.
How long can I stay?
Program participants sign a month-to-month agreement and may remain in the program as long as they follow community rules and remain in good standing.
Is this a halfway house or assisted living facility?
No. The Sanctuary Independent Living is not a halfway house or assisted living. We serve self-sufficient adults who do not need personal care but benefit from a supportive, structured living environment.
Can I bring my own furniture, children, or pets?
To maintain a clean and comfortable living space, all homes are fully furnished. Storage is limited, and personal furniture is not allowed. We are not able to accommodate children or pets at this time, as the program is designed for adult individuals only.
Is there a curfew?
Yes, a nightly curfew is enforced at 11:00 PM. Quiet hours are observed to maintain a peaceful and respectful community for all program participants.
What is the community fee?
The community fee is a one-time, non-refundable payment due at move-in. It helps cover room preparation, onboarding, and administration setup to ensure a smooth transition into your new home.
